Thankful for Thanksgiving and so much more...

We were so blessed to have Alexa, Brian, and Miss Ellie from Wednesday night until Sunday mid-day. We had such a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend. I truly couldn't have asked for a better holiday. I love Thanksgiving. I have so much to be thankful for and I was blessed to spend 5 days with seven of my most favorite people ever!

Every morning we were so blessed to wake up to this little happy darling! She "talked" and goo-ed and smiled at us all morning long. What a great way to start the day.

She always had the cutest faces and loved it when we each took turns smiling and talking back to her! What a gem of a girl!

 Grandpa having some Ellie time!
Thanksgiving mid-morning we decided to hike Johnson's Arch at Snow Canyon. Zac is a true hiker, he was all set to go! It was a beautiful day and we all had a lot of fun. This seems to be the "family" hike that we all love!
Spenc and Jer always try to stand a little taller when they are next to each other, but Spenc has definitely passed up Jeremy in height!
I LOVE the red rocks and the blue sky. It's so majestic! And you can't forget Holy Cow (below!)

The cute Zurcher family (with Holy Cow above them). Ellie slept in her "wrap" that Lex made the whole hike!

Cute mama with her baby girl!
Three generations!! Ellie Marie (2months), Alexa Marie (21 yrs), Amy Margaret (42 yrs)
Super Spencer giving Erin a piggy back!
 Gorgeous way to spend Thanksgiving!

The kids loved climbing the rocks with their adventurous dad!

Spencer with his mama! This kid will be serving on his mission next Thanksgiving! I wonder where he might be next year at this time???

Never fail, Jeremy can (and will) fall asleep anywhere!!

Finished our hike, Ellie finally woke up! We headed home to get the food cooking. We enjoyed some post-hiking healthy snacks as we prepared for our delicious dinner.

One of my MOST favorite traditions is our Thankful Poster we do every year. We set out some markers by a big piece of paper taped up on the wall. It starts getting filled fast! We leave it up all weekend long and boy oh boy are we ever creative and thankful! It's amazing how many things we are all thankful for!

Getting ready for our Thanksgiving feast. (Can you tell we're not really big on fancy-schmancy dinners??)
Day after thanksgiving....Spencer enjoying some Ellie time before he heads off to work.
Grace's team, Bombers Crush, play in the Dixie Invitational every Thanksgiving weekend. This year they took the Silver Medal. They played their hearts out in 4 games in two days. They did great!

Grace with her Bombers Crush family!

Zac enjoying some time with his niece, sister, and brother-in-law.
And one evening, we may have painted this little girls foot brown.....
 and her little hands green....
but she was oh-so-good, didn't mind for a minute, and enjoyed a warm bath afterwards! She helped create the ONLY thing I wanted for Christmas, but I told Alexa that she could tell all about it!!
(although on Sunday, she still had a slight greenish tint to her hands, and brown around her toenails!!)
Oh boy, am I ever in love with our darling grand-daughter. She is such a gem and so beautiful. She has her fussy times, but with some bouncing and jiggling and fancy moves, she's pretty easy to calm down. She is one of my favorite blessings, along with Jeremy, Alexa, Brian, Spencer, Erin, Grace, Zac, & all of our extended family. We love you Grandma's and Grandpa's!! Aunts, uncles, cousins, friends who are like family to us, neighbors - we love you! Thank you Heavenly Father for the many, many blessings I enjoy! I am blessed beyond measure!
Our poster on Saturday, but it's even fuller as I type (Sunday)!
We are SO blessed and I couldn't be happier!!

About this video
"Thousands of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints continue to volunteer to assist in the recovery efforts within these communities. On Sunday, November 11th, thousands of Mormons cancelled their church services and arrived by air, bus and train from all across the country to help. Please share this video with any friends and family that might be able to help the areas affected by Hurricane Sandy. Not only at the Rockaways, but Staten Island, Long Island, and New Jersey. The church is coordinating the efforts, but anyone (both Mormon and non Mormon) is welcome to come and help. Live as the Savior would. Help. Serve. Love. Cry with and for others. When the going get's tough, the tough get going. Thank you to all those who love, help, serve, give, without ever a thought of themselves. I am so thankful for a loving Father in Heaven and for his son Jesus Christ. I am so thankful for the gospel in action.
I am so thankful our son has chosen to serve a full time mission for our Heavenly Father to teach others about our brother Jesus Christ. I am so thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and for all that I am because of it. I will always be eternally grateful for the two missionaries from Idaho and Arizona who taught me the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel of peace, unconditional love, understanding, truth, respect, and eternal life. Although I will miss our sweet son for two years, the gift of the gospel and the service he will be able to render to those where ever he will be called to will be priceless!
I am a Mormon, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know it. I live it. I love it.
